Musée Guerre et Paix en Ardennes

Set in the Ardennes, the Museum of War and Peace looks at the three great wars that ravaged Europe — 1870-71, 1914-18 and 1939-45 — and more broadly at the conflicts still shaping the world today.

Work at every level

What was life like in the trenches? What impact does war have on a territory, on its people? Can peace ever truly arrive?

To answer these questions, La Casquette Productions and the Vox Historiæ team of historians produced six short documentary films, the historical documentation of trench and street-combat reconstructions, and a series of immersive screenings staged during public visits. My work touched every technical and artistic level: field recording, sound design, composition and post-production.

Historically grounded field recording

Field recording session with re-enactors in soldier's kit

A dozen re-enactors were on hand so we could capture, as closely as possible, the sound of their uniforms, packs and rifles across every kind of terrain.

Soundtrack

The music for the MGPA films became an album, published by Cristal Publishing and available on all platforms.
