Madame Le Maire
When the mayor of her hometown is convicted of sexual assault, Anne-Sophie decides to run in the municipal elections. A working-class single mother of two, she steps into a world whose rules she does not know.
A political thriller
For Madame Le Maire I created the entire soundtrack: original score, sound editing, voice recording and mix.
The score was built around the idea that the film moves past documentary convention, taking on a sharper, almost fictional treatment. Julien Ouguergouz pulls the viewer into Anne-Sophie's singular fight against the outgoing mayor of her hometown. From that fight came the musical intention of holding the audience in suspense throughout, letting them live the campaign as if they were inside it — like a thriller.
The music was performed by Louis-Jean Perreau on violin and Pernette Boutte on cello. The soundtrack, released by Cristal Publishing, is available on all platforms.
