Thomas NICOL aka THO is a french music composer. Initially introduced to the guitar by his father, guitarist and journalist, Thomas Nicol acquired his musical knowledge at the conservatory, where he studied music composition, concrete music and sound design.

In parallel he created several projects in performing arts and live music, going from post-rock to a musical tale, but also and above all begins the exploration of writing music for picture through indie short films. Then he worked for documentary films and sound installations for museum spaces throughout France, and also video games, feature film…

His work has been rewarded several times, allowing him to travel across France and Europe and discover festivals such as Canneseries, Soundtrack_Cologne and Aubagne International Film Festival.

D’abord initié à la guitare par son père, guitariste et journaliste, Thomas Nicol poursuit son étude de la musique au conservatoire où il étudie la composition, la musique concrète et le design sonore.

Abordant la musique comme un immense terrain de jeu, Thomas compose d’abord abondamment pour des projets scéniques très diverses, allant du groupe de post-rock jusqu’au conte musical jeune public. Mais c’est rapidement pour l’image qu’il compose le plus, mettant ainsi en musique long et courts métrages, documentaires et jeux vidéo.

Son travail a été plusieurs fois récompensé lui permettant ainsi de se rendre à des festivals tels que Canneseries, Soundtrack_Cologne ou encore le Festival International du Film d’Aubagne.
